PitchBook provides a comprehensive, research-ready dataset covering global private markets, including venture capital, private equity, M&A, company financials, valuations, deal terms, and investor networks. Designed for empirical research, and data-driven analysis in finance, entrepreneurship, strategy, and innovation.

Access to PitchBook data is available via the Social Sciences DataLab. Due to the nature of our agreement, access is restricted and must be requested in advance by submitting the appropriate access request form. Approved users can access the data in a secure environment only in full compliance with the signed agreement. Access to the data is available until December 31, 2026; use after this date is permitted only for peer review purposes.

Important note: The agreement includes a mandatory PitchBook reference as a source in accordance with applicable citation standards and academic integrity guidelines. Any papers using their datasets must be shared monthly with PitchBook and submitted to a public repository. To ensure compliance, authors must regularly provide this information to the Library.

Master Students

Supervisors can support PitchBook access provision for their Master’s students subject to specific conditions. They are strongly encouraged to actively oversee students’ appropriate use of the datasets and ensure full compliance with PitchBook’s licensing and usage guidelines.

In summary, supervisors must sponsor and formalize the required agreement, guarantee students apply the appropriate citation and reference standards, regularly share required updates with the Library, and comply with all scholarly and repository publication requirements. All access requests must be submitted through the designated request form.
